Doc Schneider & Eugene Ruffolo vous offrent deux mp3

2 compositions de Doc Schneider (vous vous rappelez, ce fan de Taylor qui lui avait dédié une chanson "Hints of Heaven" dans son album autoproduit de 2002 "Chances &Chances"et qui s'est offert une guitare Olson.)

Pour son nouvel album Doc a eu la chance de voir le singer-songwriter et guitariste virtuose Eugene Ruffolo le rejoindre pour interpréter 5 de ses nouvelles compositions. Voici donc, deux de celles-ci que Doc nous offre pour Noël. Vous pouvez donner votre avis sur la section du nouveau forum intitulé "Ananas Space -international JT Friends"

Les célèbres producteurs Ben Wisch et Jeff Jacobs ont donné un coup de main à cette collection de chansons de Doc Schneider,interprétés par des artistes époustouflants -- Eugene Ruffolo, Lucy Kaplansky, Jon Allmett, Greg Ferguson, Cheryl Wilson et Josie Aiello. le premier album de Schneider "Choices and Chances" était son album solo avec sa propre voix et son propre jeu de guitare. Pour le nouvel album, Schneider a envoyé une série de 18 chansons à des pros et les a laissé faire tout, du chant à l'instrumentation. (Schneider ne chante que sur le dernier titre.) Cet album représente une seconde chance pour ses chansons, anciennes et nouvelles, dans les mains d'un rassemblement de musiciens professionnels. Ben Wisch a produit Marc Cohn (Walking in Memphis), David Wilcox (Home Again), Eugene Ruffolo (The Hardest Easy) et tout un tas d'autres chanteurs. Jeff Jacobs est le clavier du groupe Foreigner, et a joué cinq années avec Billy Joel. Ces musiciens talentueux ont fait montre de tout leur savoir-faire avec les chansons de Schneider et réussissent à le sfaire sonner comme si elle provenaient tout droit d'une malle au trésor d'un singer-songwriter. Pour ceux qui ont fouillé déjà dans cette malle au trésor et qui ont été ému par les chansons James Taylor, David Wilcox, Dar Williams,Paul Simon ou toute chanson qui se servent de la confession et de espoirs intimes pour créer une musique au style dépouillé et intimiste, sortiront leur casques audio, un verre de vin ou deux,et se tiendront prêt à ouvrir leur coeur.

Doc Schneider est avocat. Il vit à Atlanta mais parcourt tout le pays pour régler des litiges.

C'est également un excellent guitariste et un auteur-compositeur. Il m'a envoyé son premier CD il y a quelques années et j'ai été impressionné par son sens de la mélodie, même si à mon goût la voix pêchait un peu. Avec son nouveau CD, que je viens de recevoir ce matin même, les choses s'arrangent puisque ce sont des chanteurs et musiciens professionnels qui ont choisi d'interpréter ses compositions ( Doc nous explique toutes les circonstances de leur implication dans le livret intérieur) Eugene Ruffolo et son producteur Ben Wish (Marc Cohn, Patty Larkin, Jonatha Brooke...) produisent 5 chansons, tandis que Jeff Jacobs, (membre pendant dix ans du groupe Foreigner et musicien derrière Billy Joel) produit les 12 restantes.

Artie Traum, an excellent singer-songwriter and teacher from Woodstock days and New York, passed away on Sunday. He was a good friend of many artists, including Eugene Ruffolo.

I know that several years ago either Artie Traum or Happy Traum (his brother) purported to transcribe JT's lick for October Road.

I am trying to find that article

Artie Traum and Eugene Ruffolo co-wrote The Hills of Sicily (while preparing Italian food, as Eugene told us).

It is a most surprising song, and it is really interesting to compare each of their versions.

While Eugene’s version on “The Hardest Easy” (and a different one on “In A Different Light”) = “Written with my dear friend Artie Traum, this is a song about a painter who travels to the south of Italy for the light--and to put a lot of miles between him and a painful situation..” is a real poetical musical drama sung by a romanticus, and painted in sounds and poetry (compare it with Alessandro Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus”, it is really amazing!!!)

Artie’s on “South of Lafayette” (traveling stories) is a completely different one, narrated with a deep and nice voice by a traveling traveler … firm, self-confident, and in a hurry …

All the differences between the romantic poet and the realistic traveler we can find in the difference of the 2nd verses =

Artie Traum is such a great loss to Music …. It seems that all the interesting and nice people are taken away first … this is so unfair !
